To provide higher education and employment opportunities LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation introduced a scholarship, Golden Jubilee Scholarship. Established in 2006, LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation is registered with Charity Commissioner under Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 with the intension of promoting education. The main objective of introducing scholarship is to award scholarship to meritorious students and encourage them to study more. The students who are economically weaker get best benefit from this scholarship. Students who are studying in either government or Private College/University can apply to this scholarship. LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation offers two types of scholarship, General Scholarship and Special Scholarship for Girl child.

The scholarship is made for Technical courses, Vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes or Industrial Training centers associated with the NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) and also integrated courses after 12th standard. The amount of Scholarship will be transferred to Bank Account of the selected scholar through National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT).

LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2024

The LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship program is offered by Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to those who belong to the economically weaker section and are willing to pursue higher education after finishing their 10th/12th class. This scholarship is awarded based on the course chosen by the students and the benefits ranges from Rs 15,000 to Rs 40,000.

Students who have completed Class 10/12 in the academic year 2021-22/2022-23/2023-24, and are currently enrolled in first year of medicine, engineering, diploma, or degree programs are eligible to apply for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2024. LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation has started inviting online applications for scholarships for the academic year 2024 and the online application process will run until December 22, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for Golden Jubilee Scholarship one must meet several eligibility criteria’s. Candidate wish to apply for scholarship can go through these criteria’s and apply it later. There are two type of scholarship, they are:

Eligibility for General Scholarship

• Candidate have passed 10^th and 12^th standard exam/Vocational/Diploma with 60% marks in the Academic Year 2021-22/2022-23/2023-24.
• Family Income must not exceed 2,50,000 Lakh rupees per annum.
• Candidate willing to pursue higher education in Medicine, Engineering, Graduation/degree, Integrated Courses, Diploma Course, Vocational Courses.
• Candidate must study in government recognized Colleges/Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI).

Eligibility for Special Scholarship for Girl Child

• Only open for Female Candidates
• Pursuing higher studies in Intermediate/Vocational / Diploma Courses after 10th std.
• Candidate must study in government recognized Colleges/Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) for 2 years.
• Class 10^th exam marks must not be less than 60%.
• Family income must not cross 2,50,000 Lakh rupees per annum, however, 4 lakhs in some cases, where a woman (widow/single mother/unmarried) is the sole earner of the family.
• This scholarship is not for Post Graduation students.

Process to Apply for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship

LIC golden Jubilee Scholarship can be applied online mode only. Applications for Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2023 are currently open, candidates must submit their applications online at the official website of LIC. There is no offline mode entertained. Candidates can apply for scholarship by visiting official website of LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation (GJF). Applicant may follow the simple steps given below to apply for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship in 2024.

3. Read the instructions:
   • Open “Instructions to Scholarship” PDF and read the instruction carefully before applying.
4. Open the Application:
   • Select link “Click here to Apply Now” and click on OK button.
5. Fill out necessary information’s:
   • Enter all required fields marked as *
     • State, District
     • First Name, Surname
     • Father’s Name

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship amount is distributed in two ways based on the course chosen by the student.

For general scholarships, the amounts are distributed as follows:

For Special Scholarship for Girl Child the amount is:

• Higher studies in Intermediate/Vocational/ Diploma Courses: Rs. 15000/- Per Annum (7,500+ 7,500) in 2 installments

Selection Process for LIC GJS Scholarship

Selection will be done based on student merit and their family background such as percentage of marks obtained in class XI / X and annual income of the family. Final Selection of candidates will be done based on merit on the list of candidates eligible for selection in the descending order of marks obtained.

Key details for LIC Golden Jubilee SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship awarded to students based on following condition:

1. Students secured 60% marks or obtained equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
2. The annual income of student must be Rs.2,50,000/- per annum and not more than that.
3. Selection of Scholar will be on the basis of merit and family financial background such as percentage of marks in class 10th and 12th and annual income of the family.
4. Students having less income shall be given preference.
5. Scholarship will be given to those students secured 60% in class 10th/12th or equivalent grade in the previous final examination, failing which the scholarship will be discontinued.
6. Scholarship will be given to only one student per family.
7. The students should be regular in attendance; it is decided by the school and college authority.
8. Income certificate should be on self-certification basis by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper for self-employed parents and from employer for employed parents supported by documents (from revenue department) such as land held in the name of parents.
9. Student should not violate any terms and conditions of the scholarship, if done the scholarship will be suspended or cancelled.
10. If a student gets scholarship by false statement/ certificates, his/her scholarship will be cancelled and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered.

LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Merit List

LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship, meaning a merit list will be issued to inform who has been selected for the scholarship. The merit list of the scholarship will be issued online and applicants can check the merit list only on the official website. This merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the students in class 10th/12th.
